Share students’ voices and stories through video.

How To:

Invite students to share their ideas and voices through a video series. Recruit a diverse group of students and encourage them to share a wide variety of ideas and talents – ideas to improve school, original poetry or music, comedy, how-tos, and more! Work as a team to edit and post the videos to a safe platform where they can be shared with the entire school community.

Tips & Suggestions:

  • Connect your video platform to your school’s social media accounts, website, or newsletter.
  • Recruit students who are interested in video editing and production, or who are interested in learning.

Fast Facts:

  • Internet users retain 95% of a message when it is presented in a video and only 10% when they read it in text (Insivia Analytics, 2018).
  • Showcasing what students are doing outside of academics brings attention to the diverse talents of members from all corners of a school’s community (Westheimer & Kahne, 1993).
