Invite middle schoolers to shadow high school students for a day!

How To:

Transitioning from middle to high school can be tough. Help the transition go more smoothly by inviting middle schoolers to shadow high schoolers through their classes and activities.

Start with the day with a mini-orientation and welcome for middle schoolers, followed a chance to meet their host students. Consider hosting a group lunch for everyone.

At the end of the day, leave time for students to ask questions and exchange contact information if they wish.

Tips & Suggestions:

  • If possible, have the same students welcome the middle schoolers back when they start as ninth graders.
