How is everyone feeling at your school? Create a display like a bulletin board or digital alternative that allows students to check in with their emotions. Students can check in weekly, daily, or more often.
Share the information that you collect with administration so they can use the data as feedback on the school. The inspirED team can use this, too, to choose the next project!
Tips & Suggestions:
- If your school uses the RULER Approach, turn this project into a school-wide Mood Meter check-in.
- Decide if you want the check-ins to be anonymous or not.
- Research shows that a shared emotional connection cultivates a stronger sense of community (McMillan & Chavis, 1986; Pernau, 2017).
- Studies show that telling stories about emotional events causes substantial prosocial and psychological development (Niederhoffer & Pennebaker, 2009).
